Gorgeous 1980s metallic pleated dress in red. This dress has a pretty cool history. Most people reference it to the gold dress Marilyn Monroe wears designed originally by William Travilla. Of course this is where the inspiration comes from but this 80s version was originally designed by Egyptian fashion designer Samir Mohtady who came to the USA to study art. The dress went on to be famously worn by Vanna White in blue! Samir unfortunately passed away due to the AIDS pandemic in the 1980s but his legacy lives on through this dress! This one in particular is lined with a slip line lining. The color of this one is a white/cream base with a pink iridescent metallic threading!
Label: none
Fabric:
some kind of fabric with metallic or plastic to look metallic threads
Measurements:
{ xsmall }
Bust: up to 33" - shown on a dress form with a 34" bust but it BARELY did up so maybe 34" max unless you're okay wearing it snug!
*I decided to model it and I have a 37” bust. This one fit just fine - if you have a smaller ribcage but a bit of a squishy bust I believe this can fit up to the 37” I am but maybe still best for 32-36”.
Waist: approx 26"
Hips: up to about 36" though this fit my 38.5” hips just fine
Length: 45" from top of strap straight down when hung on a hanger - may shorten a bit as it's filled out on a body.
Condition:
nearly excellent vintage condition with minor signs of wear - sold as found. - I've gone through a fixed all of the little pulls to the metallic threads I could find but there's a chance I've missed one or two minor ones. washed and ready to wear.
